1. The Misfits has been a very active clan in the Founders' Beta, tell us how did it all start?Shadow: Before guilds where introduced to the FB there were only 2-3 groups on the main message board talking about starting one up. These all seemed to be guilds that existed in the previous closed beta. Not really knowing anything about them I just decided I would found my own. 2. Why did you pick the name Misfits?Shadow: Aside from liking the band of the same name, I wanted a guild name that wasn't as "cute" as some of the others that were going to be founded or had been proposed. At the same time, I didn't want something that went too much against the grain of the HKO world and the Misfits seemed to fit finely between those two points. 3. Why was the main objective for the founding of your guild?Shadow: For people to have fun and help others. Pretty simple I guess but things tend to collapse under their own complexity if you let them get too far out of control. 4. We noticed there was a change in guild leadership midway through the Founders' Beta, what was the reason for this change?Shadow: I will not go into my personal reasons per se but I will say that at the time I started to think of departing, the guild as a whole (at least in regards to it's core members) had grown to the point where I had little fear that it would deviate from the principles I founded it on. 5. The Misfits had good success in the many guild events we had during Founders' Beta. Were you surprised that you were up there amongst the top guilds considering your smaller numbers?Sundaygirl: No, not totally surprised. The amount of work and long hours our guildies put into these events paid off. The communication between all of the guild members also helped with the F4F (Food For Friends) Event. With so many people in many different time zones one would think it would be hard to help with gathering materials and giving them to the correct members. Without being as close as we were as a guild, it is doubtful we would have had this much of a success. 6. In the Food For Friends event, Misfits came from behind and grabbed a surprise third place. Tell us about your experience in this event.Sundaygirl: Many of our guild members worked very hard on gathering items, farming and cooking for this event. We had a strategy to focus mainly on making Roasted Veggies, Lemon Pie, and Teas, as we all agreed these were some of the harder items to make so they should be worth the most points. We thought we would get 4th place easy, but we were all surprised when it turned out to be 3rd. And a very close 3rd place I might add! Although we did not turn in as many items as some of the other guilds, we knew the quality of our items were what was going to matter the most. Just like our guild, it’s not the numbers, it’s the quality of the guild members =)
I have to give a shout out for the two guild reps who collected the foods for this event, HKera and abrieLLa^_^. They both did a wonderful job encouraging people, gathering food and making sure everything was turned in on time.
7. The Misfits was also one of the guild winners of the Build New York event. How were you able to gather all the resources needed and build Grand Central ahead of many of the larger guilds?Sundaygirl: This one did surprise many of us. I think it was mostly how the guild event was handled, and honestly any guild could have won these! As long as you had 5 people working on one building with food to replenish your stamina, you could have been in the running for that particular building. We were very close for second place on the other two buildings also, so it seemed like the guilds who were participating in it were all running a very close game. It was a ton of fun! 8. Of all the guild events, which one did your guild enjoy the most and why?Sundaygirl: I would say the Build New York Event, because it gave us a chance to really pull together in a pinch and get those mystery items. It felt good to be part of such a wonderful team. 9. What will the future hold for the Misfits?Sundaygirl: The future looks bright! We are all awaiting HKO Open Beta, planning on some guild events of our own, working on just making play time fun for all of us. We are pretty laid back and just want to have a good time, it shows in our members attitudes. 10. Any closing remarks?Sundaygirl: The Misfits enjoyed Founders Beta very much, all the events were so much fun. We just want to thank all the GM's and Devs out there who put this game together. Wanting to play in a Hello Kitty world is what brought us all together, and we all couldn't thank you enough. And thanks to all the HKO players out there who participated in these events. It was nice to see the community pulling together, taking turns for the Monster Wranglers quest and just everyone being so civilized in many ways. It’s a great community and we are very pleased to be a part of it.

1. Sailoria has its roots back in closed beta, can you give us a brief history of your guild?Sailoria: The Sailor Scouts guild was formed in closed beta with only about a month or so left of the game. I was one of the last to get in (closed beta). After I made the guild, we attracted a few members. We grew to become one of the largest guilds in Closed Beta on the last day of the game, when people were still in dire need of help with completing their houses.
Ripplecloud: This was when Sailoria happened on a lone player in her farm who was racing to build her house before Closed Beta ended. In order to help this player and other players who were still building, Sailoria got the help of the GMs to recruit new members so that there were more people to help out.
Sailoria: We picked up some people who had no guild, and we merged with an existing guild Made-in-Holland that Ripplecloud belonged to. After Closed Beta, Ripplecloud and I decided to keep the guild alive and well through the blogs and forums and emails until Open Beta came along. While we did so, we picked up even more members, who couldn’t wait to join us in Founders’ Beta and beyond.
2. What was the main objective for the creation of your guild?Sailoria: I made the Sailor Scouts because it seemed like the thing to do! No one had invited me to a guild yet and I was intrigued by the concept. I ran around HKO and invited the people I became friends with who weren’t in a guild already. In CB there weren’t many people, probably around one or two hundred active players.
The Sailor Scouts guild started very small, but all of us in CB had been on friendly basis with each other because it was so small, and everyone had seen each other around and helped each other when they could. I guess building friendships (and houses!) and helping each other was the main focus. I am also an avid Sailor Moon fan, and I thought it would be a cool title, and maybe attract some Sailor Moon fans as well.
Ripplecloud: In Founders’ Beta, we made the guild to continue building on the friendships forged in Closed Beta! We love the guild chat feature where we can talk together in a group. :)
Gingerbreadgirl: We also helped each other and non-guild members as much as possible. We worked together as a team and became quite a close-knit family. We all were so supportive of each other in-game and in real life.
3. The Sailoria guild is one of the old guilds from the first Closed Beta that made it all the way to Founders' Beta, how was the transition between betas like?Sailoria: It was actually really cool! Ripplecloud and I as well as some of the members from CB decided to stick around SanrioTown and keep everyone in touch and still have the guild intact while we waited for the next beta. We did this through the blogs, forums and the email system on www.SanrioTown.com. It was amazing, because so many people found us through these means and joined up with us!
Gingerbreadgirl: That is how I found the Sailoria guild, and I along with several others asked to join the guild before Founders' Beta even started. So once we were able to form a guild, it fell right into place.
Sailoria: It was sort of daunting at first, when we realized how many people were actually playing Founders’ Beta. We were used to such a small group of people. But with one another’s help, we adjusted and organized and functioned very well.
Ripplecloud: In the end, we are very glad that a good number of our old members and new members who joined chose to stay with us through our Founders’ Beta journey. It was a lot of fun in both betas!
4. Back in Closed Beta, your guild was called the Sailor Scouts, why did you change your name to Sailoria?Gingerbreadgirl: I have to laugh at the memory of this! We had originally planned to name it Sailor Scouts as it was in Closed Beta, but personal obligations in Sailoria's life kept her from being online when the time came for setting up the guild.
Ripplecloud: I have to say that Sailoria did try her hardest to grind up to level 20 before she had to leave. But it would really be inhuman of her if she had achieved that with what little time she had, so thankfully she didn’t! :P
Gingerbreadgirl: We all tried to contribute the money it took to start up the guild and a "hats off" goes to BlondeBlueEyes and a couple of other guild mates, who came up with most of the funds. Somehow it was named Sailoria by mistake...and we all had a good laugh seeing our guild master's name under our own! But truly, no one even cared.
Sailoria: We do plan on changing it back to Sailor Scouts, if only because I am not a crazy egotist and the blog and forum say Sailor Scouts already.
5. Your guild has been really has a loyal following, it was one of the largest guilds in closed beta and at Founders' Beta, and you're still one of the biggest. What do you think attracted players to join and stay in your guild?Ripplecloud: I think Arisu from our guild summarized it very cleanly when she said that it’s because the guild mates are entertaining, incredibly sweet, and helpful!
Sailoria: The Sailor Scouts guild has from the beginning attracted helpful, kind, committed, talented and wonderful people, simply because these are the people who are attracted to HKO in the first place. We started out with friendship and camaraderie in mind, and those are very powerful things that have helped us grow. We are also very big on team work. Most of us are very dedicated, to our friendships and each other. We make sure to handle our relationships with each other with genuine care, and I truly love my guild and the wonderful people who make it so awesome. We try our best. I like to say that is our guild motto.
Gingerbreadgirl: I would also say it is because of a core group of loyal members. We had so many people who are just truly selfless, willing to help anyone, not just our own guild members, and because we all truly cared about each other. Players joined our guild and quickly found friendship, acceptance and family... and why would anyone leave family?
6. What difficulties did you encounter in keeping the guild organized and how did you overcome these obstacles?Sailoria: Ripplecloud is my rock. Without her I don’t think we would have made it very far past CB. She is so bright and full of wonderful ideas, I feel I rarely do them justice, but I try my best! We also have so many members that dedicate so much of their time and effort to the maintaining and organizing of the guild. I am sure we could not accomplish anything without them. Everyone has something valid to contribute, and we all work together, it’s really that simple.
Gingerbreadgirl: The most difficult time was during the Food for Friends Event. It was because people came on at such different times, and sometimes weren't sure what was needed to help out. There was always someone else online to let them know the answers to their questions, I know I personally answered the same questions many, many times a day! HAHA! However to be truthful, even that wasn't so hard, because several of us were on so much that we became a well oiled machine.
Ripplecloud: We definitely couldn’t have done without Gingerbreadgirl, deadrose, MidNightEyes, BlondeBlueEyes, Shaymin, Dawn LaRee and all our other awesome friends in the guild. It’s all these individuals coming together to make the guild work that makes a difference. Also, Sailoria had the awesome idea of sending an email with the guild’s suggestions on the ways we hoped the game interface and system can be further improved to enhance guilds in Open Beta. We hope some of these will get implemented *wink wink at GMs*
7. Of the many guild events held in Founders' Beta, what would be your guild's favorite?Ripplecloud: Taking a leaf out of the Frightspinners event :P, we did a poll with our guild members and the favorite event by far has got to be the Food for Friends event!
Gingerbreadgirl: It was unbelievable that we could play an online game and help UNICEF and the Asian Youth Orchestra!! Everyone dug in and worked incredibly hard. I've never been involved with anything like this and I was so touched and proud of everyone.
Each time we turned our food in to one of the GM's, it never failed to completely amaze me how willing to give everyone was. That we were one of the top two guilds in the event was so exciting, but I felt such a rush of love for all the other guilds when we saw how hard they all worked to give. It just goes to show there is still love and goodness in the world! 8. Your contribution to the Food For Friends event has really helped a lot of people, how were you able to organize your resources to amass that amount of food?Gingerbreadgirl: All of our guild members who had the hang of "farming" just farmed like crazy. I personally barely left my farm when I was online! There were some guild members who either weren't comfortable farming or were not online very often, and they so willingly gave money and materials that enabled the rest of us to farm and cook. Everything else (like questing) pretty much took a back seat to the event. We pulled together in an unbelievable way. If anyone asked what they could do to help, we told them what we needed and they did it! A lot of our members just constantly gathered materials. Everyone was just very willing to do anything they could. While it is true that the main goal was for Charity, it was also a competition, and that word always gets people motivated!
Ripplecloud: Of course, the large amount of food wouldn’t have been possible if our guild was smaller in size. Gingerbreadgirl very much took the lead with our core group of farmers. But every little bit from our other guild members – Senshi-of-Ice, the_Otakutopian, Kel, Millette, Katsuko, bluebi, Miyabi, Nina*, Ann, Petch, mango, RadGirl, Rosie, manni, Maneechan, manai, Sprite, LittleWonder, Kittie, Geena, Popuri, Angelheart, KekorangaR, ContessaVI, Ethena, Yoite, Micher, Luchog, shesroyaltee, sofia, Tee, fluffykitten, Waltrik, Kittynator, Carlos, Naifu, ChibiGato, Molly, Puffy_de_Dough, Starfish, Filipa, PrincessAurora, serissa, Ishiko, lindaxx, Bee =^.^=, Cookie, Karen, Faith202, Devilina, Kitty!, Yin our guild cheerleader and more (my apologies to those I am unable to name :P) counted just as much. Everyone chipped in with whatever was needed while still keeping the guild chat lively and fun!
Sailoria: I Feel amazingly blessed to be have been a part of that event. I think it was just beautiful to see the people in our guild shine with determination and excitement at the prospect of doing something charitable. I know a lot of people missed out on some sleep and other things, but when do you get a chance like this? It was something that everyone felt very strongly about, and we all did what we could. I really came to admire the people in the guild and love them for showing me how much they really cared about donating to these very wonderful charities.
9. What will the future hold for Sailoria?Sailoria: We will continue to hang out in Sanrio Town, building friendships and helping each other. When open beta comes, we plan to be there, and beyond. I’m afraid you may never see the end of us!
Gingerbreadgirl: We are still to this day having people ask to become members of Sailoria, so we are hoping fervently to be able to increase the number of members we can have in our guild family. It is sad to have to turn people away simply because we have no more room. I know that Sailoria herself is very strong in her belief that our guild does not turn away from other players who need help, and it doesn't matter if they are in our guild, another guild, or just individual players, and I definitely agree with that.
We are expecting to come to the Open Beta full strength, hopefully with most if not all of the members from Founder's Beta, along with lots of new members too! We will continue to keep the values important to Sailoria guild, respect each other and every other player in the game, be kind to everyone, and most of all have fun! We have unfortunately had to let a few members go who did not hold these values important, but thankfully it was a very few.
10. Any closing remarks?KSailoria: I would just like to say thank you to Sanrio Digital once again for giving us the opportunity to play HKO and in particular the Food For Friends charity event. I can’t say how good it has made me feel to be even a tiny part of this event, and I really think you guys are setting an amazing precedent. I am proud to be part of anything that is so wonderful. And thank you to all of the members of our guild, you guys are truly awesome.
Gingerbreadgirl: Being a senior member of the guild (and by that I mean much older than most of the other players) I was very touched by the acceptance and love everyone showed me. And I soon learned that it wasn't just for me, but every guild member and so many other players as well. With 200 members in Sailoria, it would take too long to thank everyone that made this game a pleasure to be a part of, but I know I will cherish the friendships I've made, and look forward in the next Beta to making lots more!
I do especially want to send love and thanks to all the Sailoria guild, without whom none of this would have been the amazing ride it has been so far! Thank you to Hello Kitty Online for making this whole thing possible. I've been honored to be a part of this entire experience, and I'm so very proud of everyone involved!
Ripplecloud: All of us had a lot of fun, despite being different ages, from different countries. So definitely, thank you Sanrio Digital and HKO team for bringing the game to us, making sure it is friendly for all ages and also to everyone for making it fun and memorable. ^_^ We honestly can’t wait for Open Beta and commercial launch to see everyone in the game again!
