Game Setup
First, create a SanrioTown account - it's fast and free. Once you have your SanrioTown account, Download Hello Kitty Online and install it on your PC.
Log in to Hello Kitty Online using your SanrioTown username and password. Choose which server to play on, then the character creation process will begin. You can customize your character's hair, hair accessories, facial features, clothes, shoes, and handheld items to set up your own original and unique Sanrio toon.
Once you've finished customizing your character, you are ready to take your first steps in Hello Kitty's world.
First Steps
You begin the game in Sanrio Harbour. Hello Kitty Online's world is a 3D-rendered environment based on beautiful illustrations. The game interface is functional, and it will only take you a few moments to become familiar with it. Have a look around the Harbour and talk to the NPCs with a quest exclamation mark above their heads.
Activities
Hello Kitty Online is not just about defeating monsters - there are many activities to choose from. Aside from exploring the monster-filled adventure areas, players can dig for ore, range the wilderness to pick fruit from trees, discover new cities, craft a broad selection of goods, play mini-games, and much more. Working on your own farm allows you to plant, grow and harvest your own crops; be sure to take good care of your crops so you will have a good harvest, and if you have a healthy farm you can even show it off to your friends! You can cook, make furniture and tools, tailor clothing, and even build a house.And, of course, you can also work on your own Hello Kitty Online blog and upload your favourite videos so that other users can see them by clicking on your character!
Questing, Skills, Meeting Characters
Hello Kitty Online includes your favorite Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pochacco, Badtz-Maru, Dear Daniel, and many others. They will serve as non-player characters (NPCs) and country leaders, providing guidance and missions to complete. Accept and complete missions to improve your skills and gain experience points and other rewards.
Player Housing
In HKO, you can own your own house and customize it with various items of furniture and decorations. However, you must build your house first, and to do that you need to obtain a Building Permit. When your house is finished you can decorate it and invite guests over for a party!
Pets
Do you like animals? Hopefully yes, because in Hello Kitty Online you can own a variety of pets. When you defeat certain monsters, they may drop "pet cards" that will grant you that particular monster as a pet. As a special treat for players, some Sanrio characters may also eventually become your pets. Not only is it fun to watch pets follow you around, but they also come in handy in various ways (such providing you with buffs).
Game/Community Integration
What sets HKO apart from other MMORPGs is the community and social functions built into the game. The game is integrated with SanrioTown, the official online community for Sanrio fans. When you right-click on other characters in-game, you will be able to read their SanrioTown blogs, watch the videos they've uploaded, and send them emails. You can play mini-games with other players for some casual fun, or even cooperate with friends from the same guild for more demanding tasks such as building a house.
