• The item “Scout’s Happy Vibes” has been fixed and now starts a quest.

• The following quests now give the correct rewards, and cannot be completed if you don’t have enough space in your inventory:

  • “Cheering Waddle I” now gives the reward “Small Happy Vibes”.

• Following numerous complaints from the Limbo Foreign Ministry about stranded travelers, the teleport from Beijing to South Hot Water Path has been removed.

• Items that expire now have correct countdown timer durations. Players who lost items due to this bug can receive a refund by following the instructions in this post.
  

• Fizzled-out Sparklers can now be traded in to Recyclobot more than once.

Gameplay

New York

• Added updated New York map and two new adventure maps.

• New quests added in New York.

• New York is now accessible from the North Sparkling Terraces in the Beijing area, and from West Misty Land in the Florapolis area.

• Capsule machine system is now available in New York.

• New York residents have emerged from hiding (mobs in New York have been replaced).

• Added 5 new clothing sets obtainable from New York residents, as well as several new Cheer wands.

• Players can now access New York via the Sunbright Express train system, if they have already been to New York at least once.

General Updates

• Moles have been temporarily disabled from farms.

User Interface

• Access to in-game email by right-clicking on characters has been temporarily disabled.

• Right-clicking on a portal will no longer allow the player to move to the next map (use left-click).

• A system message will now appear upon log-in if players have at least one item in their Item Delivery window.

• Added New York section to the Quest Log window.

• The world map has been updated to reflect the addition of New York and 2 new adventure maps.

Bug Fixes

• The bug where players appeared to continue interacting with defeated mobs has been fixed.

• Special characters are once again allowed in the Character Information window.

• The tooltip for the item “Sneaky Sneakers” has been fixed, and now correctly indicates “Consumable Item”.

Known Issues

• Players need to restart their client in order to see the updated World Map.

• Players cannot enter rooms in their house.

• The world map incorrectly displays the player’s location when a player is in any indoor map in New York.

• Some players are experiencing occasional log-in failures even when username and password are entered correctly. If this happens to you, please check that your log-in details are correct and then try to log in again.

Client

Language Selection

All players can now choose between English, German and French as the display language of their client. Previously, only certain client versions had this option. Language selection can be accessed through the launcher window where players choose between Full-screen mode and Windowed mode.

Patch Server

All clients will now download patches from a single patch server.

New Zone

New York City

Added new zone: the city of New York. For details please see Holiday Capers & Celebrations in New York. Unlike other cities in HKO, this zone is home to monsters. Non-monster inhabitants are strangely absent. Monsters here can drop Dream Pebbles and Dream Shards.

This special holiday event is now live. To get started, you will need to visit the Item Mall to pick up an invitation from one of two quest-givers. Please see details at Holiday Capers & Celebrations in New York.

Disabled 36th Birthday Event sparklers

• Sparkler Turn-In quest NPC (The Glad Hatter) in Sanrio Harbour will be removed.
  
• Sparklers will be turned into useless items (asset and attribute change)

Multiplayer arcade machines

Arcade machines in Sanrio Harbour now allow players to play multiplayer games by clicking on the virtual seats.

Removed Dream Room portal to Sanrio Harbour

• Players can no longer exit to Sanrio Harbour from the Dream Room.

Opt-in Dream Room added back to Dream Carnival

• The Dream Room has returned to the game as an opt-in tutorial. New players can click on the question mark button on the minimap interface at the top left corner of the screen to access a help menu and launch the Dream Room when in the Dream Carnival zone.
  
• A system message will ask you for confirmation when you launch the Dream Room.

User Interface

In-game email button and functionality temporarily disabled

• When the e-mail button on the game interface is clicked, a system message will advise the player to check email using SanrioTown.
• Clicking on the “Online Help” button in the Settings menu will result in a system message advising the user to email the support account.

In-game web browser enhancement

• The HKO in-game web browser now recognizes the tab key and uppercase letters.

Chat Filter

• Removed a bug that temporarily caused the Chat Filter to stop working.
• Improved the filter so that it now also blocks multiple repeated letters within words that should be blocked.

Bug Fixes

Character Information page

• Players will no longer see unnecessary text (e.g. from chat or tooltips) in other players’ Character Info pages.
• Text will no longer exceed the text field.

Server Status bar

• Server status background added.
• Fixed text overlap issue on 800x600 resolution.

French and German versions of HKO

• Quests in the Dream Carnival now display in the correct language when players run the game in French and German.
